ICLW

I am doing ICLW this month and saw on another blog a quick post about who they are and their journey so far. I thought I'd borrow the idea because frankly, it's brilliant. And it lets me talk about myself and not feel self-conscious. Okay, so having a blog kinda kills the thought that I'm self-concious, but play along, please?

I'm April. I've been married for 2 years to my wonderful husband P. I have a beautiful step-daughter J., also known as the young'un. She's 10 going on 30. P. and I have been trying to have a child of our own for 2 years and have managed only a miscarriage in Jan. 08. Next month I will be spending "quality time" with my GYN at my annual and will be pushing for tests to be done to get started on why we aren't having children and what can be done to help. Of course, I'm beginning to think the first course of action will be to find a new doctor since so far the current one has only suggested using OPKs.

Outside of my childbearing abilities, or more accurately my lack there of, I crochet, read, watch tv, and spend lots and lots of time in the waiting room at the young'un's dance classes. I'm also participating in the Light the Night walk in memory of Joe Lin who lost his battle with leukemia at age 33. He left behind a young wife, a brother, and parents all of whom were devastated by the loss. Yes, that is a shameless appeal for donations to this cause, if you are so inclined.

That's about it in a nutshell. Right now I'm in IF limbo, but still valiantly trying each month. Thank you for stopping by!

I hope that you find a doctor that is helpful and willing to do the tests that are needed. I wish I could crochet. I tried that and knitting and stunk at both. Good luck in your journey!

Thanks for stopping by my blog. Nice to meet another blogger! I hope you find a better doctor, i think i would have jumped across the desk and strangled him/her if they had just suggested OPKs!

Thanks for stopping by my blog...I appreciate your comment! It so nice to "meet" you. :)

Hope that you get some answers from your GYN...my advice is to make a list so that you don't forget anything (I am notorious for that!) and also get the name of a contact person that you can call back with questions if you think of something after you leave. If found if I call and say, "Hi, so-in-so, Dr. D gave me your name at my appointment last week and told me that I could contact you if I had any more questions. Can youhelp me with _________?" that thet are much more helpful. Fingers crossed for you!

Happy ICLW Week!

IF is such a weird place and denial is very much a part of it. Looking back I wish I had pushed (or switched) my OBGYN to test me earlier. Maybe then he would have been able to remove a polyp that caused bleeding, pain and IF while my husbands reversal was still working. Ouch, that made me sound really bitter.

Good luck on your journey and happy ICLW :-)

Nice to meet you! I hope you can get some answers next time you see your doctor or either find one who will give you the answers you need. I think the charity is a wonderful thing you're working towards and I wish you the best of luck!

my best advice, not that you asked for it, is ADVOCATE for yourself. you know your body better than anyone. if i had been able to do this from the start, or even in the middle, i could have saved myself years of trouble.

good luck on your journey!
